April Flowers

Don't ask what the world needs - ask what makes you come alive and go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.           - Howard Thurman

Bird Watching at Breakfast

warm morning, breakfast outside...

while eating, a lovely young male hooded oriole came to sip at the nectar of these african agaves... the one I saw was slim and a softer yellow with a green tint,  than the photo on the link, graceful and delicate...

then I noticed a road runner perched on my favorite Joshua Tree...I went closer and heard it beep, so delightful...and then it began making a series of low echoing notes similar to the mourning dove, bending over to make each note...I have been attributing these sounds to the doves...

Tiny Desert Flowers

Creosote is beginning to bloom out here in far north Joshua Tree

this bunch of flowers growing from the center of the Desert Trumpet is not much bigger than the tip of my finger

clump of Desert Trumpets...last year I saw only one in this area, now there are many...

RoadRunners

Outside my west window I saw two roadrunners dancing around each other and I ran for my camera.  When I came back they seemed to be contentedly mating:

When they separated they seemed confused for a few seconds as if not sure what to do next

then the female ran off, and the male stood still for a few moments, gave his head a shake, and moved on.

Clear Cold April Morning

If something is outside of our control, it makes no sense to worry about it because if it is outside of our control, it makes no sense to worry about it. If something is within our control, it makes no sense to worry about it because if it is within our control, it makes no sense to worry about it. Since everything is either within our control or outside our control, there's nothing left to worry about!                      - Wayne Dyer

Desert Clouds

clouds gathering over Mt Gorgonio as seen from west of Desert Hot Springs yesterday late afternoon...and this morning I notice Gorgonio is hidden in clouds...I'm guessing it will be shining with fresh snow when we see it again...

Eileen and Insight

  • Yesterday I spent an hour on the phone consulting with Eileen Murphy, whom I know well from when I was living in Colorado, about the difficulties and pain I have been experiencing with my leg.

She and her husband Tim offer lots of wonderful stuff on their website, Bridging Connections.

One area of Eileen's amazing expertise is an "Intuitive Health Reading."  To me, her abilities as a medical intuitive are on a par with Carolyn Myss.  She was able to describe to me in detail what was going on inside my leg and what to do about it.
Here is how she talks about her Intuitive Heath Readings:
"Eileen will address the spiritual, emotional, mental and physical components of your concern.  In sessions with her,  you will receive: clarity about the causes of your condition; communication about what you are learning from this condition; identification of specific thoughts, patterns, feelings and/or any negative beliefs about yourself that are contributing to this condition; insightful coaching and practices to assist in your healing; sorting out what is relevant from what is not; a partner who will work with and honor your own knowledge and intuitive knowing; a prioritized action plan for most effective healing; recommendations for other modalities that would assist you; compassion, nurturing, and masterful guidance to enhance your ability to heal yourself.
"If you are currently seeing a physician or other health practitioners, this reading may include questions you can ask of your medical provider to aid in diagnosing and treating your condition. This is especially helpful when your physician is stumped about the underlying causes and, therefore, may be primarily treating the symptoms."

Migrating Birds and Morning Sky

lots of migrating birds coming through today:  beautiful warblers and kinglets and vireos and a Western Tanager...

and the only one who wanted its picture taken was this adorable Chipping Sparrow...

Mercury

I think this new painting must have somehow been inspired by the planet Mercury which has been gracing the evening sky with Venus recently and is now going to start moving out of sight again...
