Yesterday afternoon the desert was calling me, and I went to an area about an hour and a half east of Joshua Tree and walked around on the NE edge of Joshua Tree National Park. It was a clear dry day with just a faint wind, about 80 degrees F in mid-afternoon...warm in the sun, cool in the shade...
the sand out here is much paler, less brown, than where I live
autumn bushes and a water shaped rock face...apparently this area was under an ocean back along the way...
shadows lengthening
