I actually came to these from working on simple grids and seeing the doorway forming as I applied the paint in one of the squares...I love the metaphors that doorways are: thresholds, opportunities, new vistas, moving from the old to the new, etc. and I think my time spent in places where people live in adobe houses painted with bright colors (our own desert Southwest, Mexico, Morocco, and your beautiful country...
